For example per condition policies do not restrict the number of claims that can be made each year but they do set a maximum monetary limit for each condition and once the limit is reached, you cannot claim for that condition again.

Life time policies do allow claims for conditions which have been claimed for in the past but they set a limit on the total amount that can be paid each policy year.

Unlimited and by that we mean ‘peace of mind’ pet insurance is best served by the purchase of a Life Time policy.  A Life Time policy means just that: it provides cover for your pet throughout its lifetime, which continues even into old age.  If your pet is unlucky enough to develop a long-term illness such as arthritis or diabetes then this is the most suitable option as you are allowed to claim as many times as you need.  It tends to be all-inclusive in that it will cover any conditions that your pet has suffered from or for which you made a claim on in the past with the insurer. 

However, there is a limit, put on annually, in regard to the total amount that you can claim.  This will be clearly stated in your insurance policy.  If you buy this cover with the highest monetary limit that you can afford then that will be the ‘unlimited’ insurance policy that you desire.

Be aware that any claim you make will attract an excess and these fees can be quite expensive!   This type of cover is the most expensive in terms of the insurance premiums but as the saying goes, ‘you get what you pay for’.  It is a comprehensive package that will enable you to make unlimited claims as and when necessary and ensures that you and your pet are protected for life.

As with any type of insurance make sure that you read the small print carefully and that you fully understand what your policy does, and doesn’t cover.
