My cat has been diagnosed with a heart murmur. Can I get insurance?

hi, my cat has just been diagnosed with a heart murmur rated 3 on the scale after his routine check up but with no other signs of disease. He is only 2 & I haven't taken out insurance yet, would any company cover him for any future heart problems now?

Unfortunately now your cat has been diagnosed with a heart murmur it is unlikely that you will find an insurance company which will cover him for heart problems.  However, they should cover him for any other health issues.  Heart murmurs are more common in cats that people realise and it is important to understand that having a heart murmur does not necessarily mean that your cat has a heart problem now and although they may develop one in the future it can take many years before that happens.
